Our Adopted Family program was created to help support individuals and families who have fallen on difficult times due to unforeseen circumstances. Often times, the ability or the time to get to the grocery store due to their circumstances can be difficult. We look at our support as a Hand Up not a Hand Out. We all have been through difficult times when others have reached out and brought a meal, a gift card or delivered a bag of groceries. It is those acts of kindness that can make a difference on so many levels. The support you provide offers hope and brings help allowing for continued growth through their current situation.
Not only are your donations making a hands-on difference because they are the everyday necessities we all need, but your donations also support on an emotional level. There is nothing like the gift of kindness! To know that someone cared enough to donate and then to personally have these items delivered...it means so much to those on the receiving end. Even though the needs are "great", the kindness and generosity from your donations often times turns someone's day completely around...for the better!
All year long, "From the Heart" collects non-perishable products, paper goods, personal items, cleaning items and gift cards to help offset grocery costs for individuals and families in need. All items need to be within expiration date. We welcome monetary donations to help us purchase grocery items for these families.
"From the Heart" created this program many years ago and we collect from the list above 365 days a year. As donations are made, the items are matched to our list of needs and donations are delivered. Sometimes we deliver one bag, sometimes we are able to deliver more. Every single items helps!
What we love about this program is that it does not take much to help...one extra item in your grocery cart each week = 52 items you can donate in a year. Combine your donation with others doing the same....and you have helped to bring continued support all year long! Often times, people feel donations have to be big in order to make a difference - we believe if everyone does a little something...together we can make a big difference! Thank you again for all your help!
