EASTER PAIL DRIVE
Each year, "From the Heart" creates and donates Easter pails for children in foster care and children in our "Adopted Family Program". There are many needed items and we would love for you to join us in helping to ensure many children receive a pail filled with small toys and personal items on Easter morning.
We love using the beach pails because kids can use them all spring and summer and they are deep enough that items stay in them making for easier transportation. While beach pails or plastic Easter pails are preferred, feel free to use gift bags or Easter baskets as well! You can't go wrong with any of these choices!!
How can you help?
One way to help us out is to go ahead and create your own Easter pail making it all set for donating. This is a great project for an individual, family, group of co-workers, Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop etc. If everyone donates one or two items, in no time at all...you will have a completed pail! It’s easy, fun... and appreciated!
Another way to help us out would be to donate individual items. We will add your donations with other individual donations to create as many pails as possible. One item makes a difference when we put them all together!
The only item we cannot add to the baskets (for liability reasons) is candy…HOWEVER candy is an item a foster parent or other guardian will be able to add, so no worries on the lack of a chocolate bunny! ☺ We have also eliminated plastic Easter eggs and Easter grass only because it takes a long time to fill the eggs and generally we have larger items to add into the pails. If we receive them, we will use them however, these are not items we generally add as much anymore.
In order for “From The Heart” to create the pails, we are seeking donations of brand new, age appropriate items.
Feel free to get creative – below is simply a suggested list of items we would love:
Sidewalk chalk - coloring books – crayons - markers - bubbles - stickers - lightweight balls – kites - Playdoh - craft kits - card games - sunglasses - small cars/trucks, Legos/Bionicles - baby dolls - Jump Ropes - action figures - hair accessories - kids shampoo - hair brushes - and of course stuffed Easter Bunnies (any size).
We never want to leave the older children and teens out! For these children, "From the Heart" is collecting personal care items and "fun items" that an older child or teen uses:
Suggested items are: Shampoo/Conditioner- Toothpaste/Toothbrush- Hairbrush - Hand Lotion- Shower Gel – Deodorant - Body Sprays - Hair Bands - Face Wash/Wipes - Scented Soap - Chapstick etc.
